Jess
Jess is an alternative model whom I had the privilege of photographing for my undergraduate capstone project. This endeavor focused on celebrating the unique beauty of alternative women, particularly those adorned with tattoos. Inspired by the diversity and individuality inherent in alternative aesthetics, I aimed to capture the essence of these often-underrepresented women through a series of intimate portraits. Choosing to work exclusively with natural lighting, I sought to authentically highlight the intricate details and personal narratives etched into their skin. This approach not only complemented the natural allure of Jess and her tattoos but also reinforced the organic, unfiltered essence of alternative beauty. Working with Jess was an enlightening experience, deepening my appreciation for the artistry and self-expression within alternative culture. The project culminated in a well-received exhibition, affirming the importance of diverse representation in contemporary photography
